End of Best Motoring

Posted by kopok Thursday, April 28, 2011 0 comments
Another sad news from Japan and automotive scene... As you can read at Noriyaro, Best Motoring is cancelled after 24 years. World lost one of the best automotive shows these days and probably the only show you could watch all day although you don't understand anything they are talking about.

JDM scene wouldn't reach the level as it is today if it wasn't for Best Motoring.

No data about engine specifications yet, but exterior is definitely too hot to disappoint.

NSX is back

Posted by kopok Monday, February 7, 2011 0 comments
Looks like Japanese financial crisis is over. President of Honda, Takashi Ito announced continuance of new NSX development. Project shocked Japanese supercar enthusiasts, when it was cancelled 2 years ago after hyping everybody up with spy shots and spy videos.

After ending of Honda's Type R class, renewing the legend is something to rise Honda again in a place where it belongs. If we calculate the timelines, NSX project was cancelled at the end of 2008 and latest news before that time were that it should be finished in 2011. Development was frozen for 3 years, so new NSX should hit the roads in 2014? The sooner, the better.

Hiromu Naruse R.I.P.

Posted by kopok Thursday, June 24, 2010 0 comments
Yesterday afternoon, Hiromu Naruse (67) was killed in traffic accident. He was Toyota's test driver for more than 40 years, he was Toyota's chief test driver of LF-A and had a big influence in making of Toyota Lexus LF-A supercar along with many more Toyota sport cars.

Hiromu crashed his Lexus LF-A Nürburgring edition (prototype car worth 1,5million euros) near Nürburgring on German highway. Big loss for Toyota Motor Company and to the world.

Another legend left this world... Hiromu, rest in peace!

End of Honda Type R FD2

Posted by kopok Sunday, April 18, 2010 0 comments

Rumors came true. Honda Motors Company announced end of manufacturing one of the best FWD NA cars on the planet, Civic FD2 Type R. Low mileage and high gasoline prices are claiming their tax in car industry and CTR is reaching it’s end after 13 years and 3 generations of Civic.

Production will end by the end of this summer, for now it will only effect Japanese FD2, while European FN2 will remain in production. With ending of NSX, Integra, S2000 and JDM CTR, Euro CTR remains the only sporty Honda from Type R class.

HKS CR-Z

Posted by kopok Monday, March 15, 2010 0 comments

More and more tuners started to tune still fresh Honda CR-Z. After some hot shots from Spoon Sports and concept pictures from Mugen company, now HKS published some pictures of their version of black CR-Z.

As always, HKS is cheap with revealing details until the very last moment. Engine work, exhaust, rims (Advan RS I suppose), body and brakes. Nothing drastic, but let yourself be surprised.

I’m still skeptical about that hybrid engines, with a K20 unit CR-Z would be a real pocket rocket, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Honda HSV-10 GT

Posted by kopok Wednesday, December 23, 2009 0 comments
First official picture of substitute for "old" Honda NSX. It's not going to be a civil car. For now... it will be only be produced in 5 examples (teams: ARTA, Dome, Real Racing, TEAM Kunimitsu and Nakajima Racing) in the beginning of 2010 for racing purposes in Japan Super GT series.
Almost full carbon-fibre body runned by 3,4L V8 engine which shall produce about 600 bhp! HSV-10 GT is going to rev up to 10.300rpm, it means we can expect some crazy sound coming out of engine.
We wish Honda HSV-10 GT all the best, to sucessfully continue path of a legendary NSX.
